The countdown for Marc's prison release is now at 656 days. This week a Canadian Conservative Member of Parliament, Jay Aspin from Nipissing-Timiskaming, Ontario, introduced a petition in the House of Parliament about Marc's treaty transfer from the United States to Canada.

Also this week, our good friend and accomplished activist Dana Larsen lauched his initiative here in British Columbia to form a more sensible approach to cannabis. He has organized a public forum to be held Monday, September 24, from 7-9pm at Alix Goolden Performance Hall, 907 Pandora Ave, Victoria BC. Many initiatives are ready to be voted on in the United States in their upcoming elections. Massachusetts, Oregon, Colorado, Washington, Montana and Arkansa are among the many poised. Get involved if you're in a state with an initiative and vote yes!

The Boston Freedom rally happened last weekend with 50,000 in attendance. Jodie spoke on the main stage to a warmly welcoming audience, and was able to meet up lots of supporters and friends. September 10th marks the 2 year anniversary of Marc's sentencing in Seattle, where he accepted a plea deal to serve 5 years for sending marijuana seeds to the U.S. and contributing millions of dollars to activism efforts. With 664 days left on that sentence we hope like then that Marc can be transfered back to Canada and will be released sooner.

Coming up September 15th is the Boston Freedom Rally, starting high noon at the Boston Commons. Jodie will speaking on the main stage at 1:50 and would love to see you there. For all the details go to http://masscann.org/rally

More media opportunities have arisen from Marc's article "Our Missed Opportunity" that was published at The Huffington Post – another article by Jon Ferry in the Province newspaper, and a radio interview on the Corus Radio Network's "Roy Green Show", broadcast across Canada.

Jodie returns after three weeks away with lots to share. First, she shows new photos of her and Marc taken in July. On August 11th and 12th, she was visiting Marc in Mississippi, then went to her hometown Kamloops for two days, then off to Seattle Hempfest, where Jodie spoke on stage 5 times over the weekend. She was met with strong support for her and Marc and was thrilled to meet all of the fans and friends. Kudos to the organizers and volunteers that make Hempfest such a success and meaningful celebration of cannabis and hemp. Next stop was Las Vegas, where Jodie and the Cannabis Culture Headquarters store managers Tiffany and Catherine attend the Champs Tradeshow and hooked up with tons of great new items for the store. From there, Jodie went back to Mississippi to see Marc again, and finally got home on Tuesday this week!

With now only 677 days left on Marc's prison sentence, his world has been improved as the prison now allows inmates to have prison-issue mp3 players.
